Thank you to past pupil and Limerick midfielder Tommy Childs for setting the final challenge of the week for us. Give it a go and let us know how you get on. Well done to everyone who took part in the various daily activities and challenges that we set over the course of the week. We hope you had fun!!!
Friday's challenge set by Ms Maher is to build your own obstacle course using things that you have at home around the house. Looking forward to seeing some creative entries as part of this challenge. Have fun!!!
Fantastic to see such happy and active children in the videos coming in for our sports week. Well done everyone!!!
Another nice fun activity for you. Challenge someone in your family to the a welly throwing competition and see how far you can throw your wellies!!!
A nice fun activity for you. Challenge your parents with this one!!! Probably best to play on a grassy area and to do best of 3 penalties!!!
This challenge is for people who are newer to hurling and camogie. Practice your striking using a tyre or football using your left and right side. You can also practice striking the ball along the ground off a wall or with someone. Try to stop the ball on its way back and don't let it past you. When you get a little more used to this hit the ball off a wall out of your hands and again try not to let the ball past you. You can start timing yourself and see how many strikes you can get in a minute.
A hurling challenge for our pupils at the senior end of the school that are used to playing a lot of hurling and camogie. See how many times you can strike the ball off the wall and get it back into your hand. Time yourself for a minute and try and beat your score. It might take a little bit of getting used to, to catch the ball but keep practising and you will get much better at it. There's a second skill in it that will take a lot of practice. See how many times you can strike the ball off the wall without catching the ball or letting it hit the ground. Best of luck!!!
A few different challenges set by Joan. We'll give you until the weekend to complete some of these. First of all Joan is challenging our pupils to climb Galtymore, Temple hill or Combaun. We'd love to see some pictures if you do manage to get up there. Joan is also challenging you to take part in the sack race as well as hopping on one leg for as long as possible.
2 challenges again today. Our second one is set by Ms Fogarty. The Maradonna challenge. 2 keepie uppies with your feet, 2 with your knees, 2 with your shoulders and one with your head. If any of our pupils complete this with a football, there's a €10 prize in it from Mr Kearney! We'll need video proof!!!
Past pupil and Limerick footballer Bob Childs sets a football challenge for us today. Try it out and see how you get on.
