In Anglesboro N.S. we realise that all of our children are different and have many different interests. We strive to recognise and promote our children's individual talents by providing a wide range of extra curricular activities.
- School sports teams participate in Gaelic football, hurling, and camogie competitions.
- Each year 1st class up attend swimming lessons in Fermoy leisure centre for a 6 week stint.
- We have an active Green School Committee and are currently working on our 3rd Green Flag.
- We are also working towards an Active Flag this year, as well as making steps towards becoming a Health Promoting School.
- The school choir enhances our ceremonies and celebrations throughout the year.
- Our Christmas plays allow our children showcase their musical and acting talents.
- Our children enjoy planting various seeds, bulbs, plants and trees in our school garden.
- Our Senior classes benefit from a 6 week computer course where they engage in coding and other activities.
- Our children participate in many Art competitions throughout the course of the year.
- Our annual ‘Sports Evening’ is one of the highlights of the school year and has been running with over 40 years.
- Classes are taken on educational trips during the school year.
- The school avails of the services of coaches from different sporting areas who visit the school such as: hurling, football, yoga, and dance. Last year Limerick hurling captain James Ryan visited us for 6 weeks.
- A chess coach recently visited us which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
- Infants pair with senior classes for ‘Reading Buddies’.
- Our Infants engage with the Aistear programme.
- Our Senior 6th class engage with a Transition from Primary to Secondary Education Programme.
- Workshops are organised annually. In the recent past we have organised demonstrations during Science Week, drumming workshops and visits by other guest speakers.
- We enter quiz teams in different competitions.
- We take part in Local nature walks.
