grandparents day

9/2/2018

On January 7th 2018 we held our Grandparents day in Anglesboro N.S for Catholic school week and it was a big success. We started at 11 am. We went to mass in the hall. Mass was lovely and during it most of the pupils in 4th 5th and 6th class read prayers. At the end each classroom sang a song. Cian R, Ali,  Caylee and I read about our grandparents and how much they mean to us. After all that the pupils went back to their classrooms except for 5th and 6th. We stayed and chatted to the Grandparents in the hall and took photos with our new iPads. This was my last Grandparents day in Anglesboro N.S. and one of the best ones as well. All the children and grandparents are looking forward to coming back again next year.

On Wednesday the 6th Anglesboro N.S. held their Grandparents day. About 50 Grandparents turner up. We had a mass, sang songs, drew pictures and wrote stories about our Grandparents. We started off by welcoming them with a song and Caoimhe read a reflection about Grandparents. Fr Kelly started off the mass, then Sean and Kate did the readings. Cian H, Hannah, Sean W, Tommy, Evie, Padraig, and Cameron read the prayers of the faithful. When the mass ended, the Boro Buddies sang a song and did a poem. Cian, Paddy, Caylee and I read out stories and memories about our grandparents. Miss Gallahues class then sang “The rattlin bog”, before miss Kelly sang a song from Mary Poppins. Our class also sang “I tell me Ma”. The grandparents sat down and had tea and cakes. We showed our grandparents our classrooms and we all had a great day.
