We are now officially an "Active School". On Tuesday a validator from the Active Schools programme visited us. We were delighted to be awarded our very first Active Schools flag. We launched our Active Schools campaign back in September and have been very busy since with many activities, events and initiatives taking place over the course of the year. A big thank you to our Active Schools committee and Ms Kelly for all their hard work.

4th, 5th and 6th Class worked with the Junior Room recently to help them create some lovely word art portraits. Some nice Word Art portraits we made on our school iPads using compliments given by classmates.
Last night was the 43rd year of our annual sports evening and as always, we had a very enjoyable evening full of activity and fun. This year Galbally, Kilbehenny and Ballylanders took part in our football blitz. The final was a cracking game where we just about got the better of Ballylanders. Well done to all of our boys and girls. Our joint captains Ellie Martin and Paddy English were delighted to accept the cup. A big thank you to James Murphy and John Ryan for doing MC on the night. This service was provided completely free of charge which we greatly appreciated. Thanks to the Liam Lynch pipe band for creating a great atmosphere before the finals. Thank you also to Johnny Cleary for referring the blitz. Finally, thank you to all our parents who helped out in anyway in making our sports evening such a success. Well done to Chloe O’ Keefe who is only in 3rd class and managed to raise a fantastic €250 on the night for the "Make A Wish foundation". Chloe has also been supporting the "Rapunzel foundation". Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class went to Mary Immaculate College on Friday June 8th to the Just 4 Fun School Tour. Everyone had a great day. Today was our 6th and final week of swimming lessons in Fermoy Leisure Centre for 1st - 6th class. We partake in swimming lessons each year and it is great to see the children improving at such an essential life skill while also having great fun!!
Well done to Paddy, Cian R and Cian H who came 3rd in the Munster primary schools skills competition in Mallow today. The boys did their school, their club and their county proud and are a testament to the work that has been going on over the last number of years between the club and the school. Congratulations to Holy Family N.S. Rathmore who were worthy winners. It was also nice to see our boys make the Limerick and Cork match day programme over the weekend and who knows it may not be the last time they are included in a Limerick programme...
On Tuesday morning 4th 5th and 6th class enjoyed visiting the "Tuesday club" after mass. We sang songs together and had great fun being taught how to play a variety of card games, while also teaching one or two games of our own. We look forward to visiting the club again in the near future.
A great day spent in Watergrasshill for our senior school tour where we enjoyed karting, laser tag, archery, sumo wrestling, and gladiator jousting. Congratulations to our boys who won the South Limerick hurling final against Glenbrohane today. Our captain Paddy was delighted to be the first Anglesboro man to lift the cup in well over 20 years. Thank you to the large number of supporters who turned up to cheer on the team.
